Meet Our Team

Our team is led by Bernard Black, who has always had a strong interest in insects. As a boy, he would run around collecting bugs to identify and keep as pets. When he grew older, he decided to pursue his interests further by attending UC Berkeley for his degree in Pest Management. Shortly after graduation, Bernard took a job with a local pest control business. He quickly realized that he was an entrepreneur at heart and decided to start his first company in Kingsburg California called Banner Pest Control. In 1999, he sold Banner Pest Control to a national company and took a pest management position in Portland Oregon to be closer to his family. Once again he found his entrepreneurial spirit calling and decided to start Black's Pest Services. Bernard has a strong background in both commercial and residential settings that involve services such as fumigation, crawl space refurbishments, bird control, and much more. His recent achievements include serving as an expert witness and becoming a Board Certified Entomologist. When Bernard is not working on the business or giving presentations and classes, he spends his time with his family or indulging in one of his favorite hobbies: gardening and beekeeping.
