Since our humble beginnings in 1908, we have grown to become one of the most trusted pest prevention specialists in the region. Our History

In 1908, the journey of Paratex began with Ruddy Fumigation in Pioneer Square, Seattle. At the time, the company was keeping rats from the Seattle waterfront and docks by using sulfur pots in the ships' cargo holds. Fast forward to the 1940s, Paramount Pest Control in California was looking to expand to the northwest. John Osborn, the founder of Paramount Pest Control, moved his family to Seattle and opened operations on Dearborn street. In 1962, his son, James (Jim) Osborn, combined Ruddy Fumigation Co. with Paramount Pest Control to create what would become Paratex.

Today

Today, Paratex is still a family-run business, operated by the next generation. Jen Osborn and Ed Kloth, both third-generation Seattle natives, strive to take care of both old and new customers. Our team of experienced technicians and operations staff have been with the company for many years, thanks to our time-tested values of caring for our customers and each other.

As one of the few companies in the Northwest with the licenses, insurance, and experience to perform fumigations, we offer a wide range of services to our customers. From rodent control to insect management, we have the expertise to prevent and eliminate pest issues. Our services include:

• Rodent Control: We specialize in controlling rodents, including rats and mice, which can carry harmful diseases that can spread to humans.
• Insect Control: We focus on managing a variety of insects, including ants, wasps, bees, bed bugs, and roaches.
• Fumigation: We perform on-site fumigation of structures, containers, and commodities using a gas instead of a liquid or dust pesticide.
• Exclusion: We design and install effective exclusion services to prevent pests from entering buildings and homes.
• Wood Destroying Organisms: We help prevent and eliminate wood destroying organisms, such as ants, beetles, and termites.
